Caitlin Clark Breaking Record After Record in Her Rookie Season

Caitlin Clark has been having an incredible rookie season. After being the No. 1 pick in the 2024 WNBA draft to the Indiana Fever, Clark has become incredibly successful so far in her career.

While at the University of Iowa, she broke the NCAA Division 1 points record. She also won the Division 1 Player of the Year for the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons.

Clark has since been breaking record after record this rookie season. Ranging from rookie records to all-time WNBA records.

The Indiana Fever had a rough start to their season, with a record of only 1-8. However, this did not stop Caitlin Clark from breaking records. She has become one of the highest scorers and passers in league history.

She averaged 19.2 points, 8.4 assists and 5.7 rebounds per game.

Her average points per game is eighth overall in the league and fourth-best scoring average for a rookie.

She led the WNBA in assists per game, seventh in scoring, and 19th in rebounding. She was also 21st in three-point percentage.

She has 90.6% accuracy for free throws, the second-best in the league.

When Clark was a senior at Iowa, she had 1,234 points, 346 assists, and 287 rebounds and made 201 3-pointers. In her rookie season, she had 7669 points, 227 assists, and 337 rebounds, and she scored 122 3-pointers.

She is second in the league for most minutes per game (35.4), she also never missed a game.

She set WNBA records for assists and turnovers, she beat Alyssa Thomas’s turnover record (223). She has a record of 337 assists as well.

She has the most assists in a single game, 19.

She scored the most points by a guard in a season in WNBA history. She is the fastest player, with 350 points and 150 assists to start the WNBA season. Also, the fastest player to hit 100 3-points.

She is the first player in WNBA history to record a line of 20+ points, 15+ assists, and 5+ rebounds in a game. She scored the most points by a rookie (769) and the most assists by a rookie (337).

She had 14 double-doubles, which is the most double-doubles by a rookie guard, and also the most in Indiana Fever history. She is also the first rookie to hit a triple-double in WNBA history.

This is also the first triple-double in Indiana Fever history.

Clark also set the WNBA record for most rookie three-pointers (122). This is second most in the whole WNBA behind Sabrina Ionescu, who hit 128 last season.

She is the first person from the WNBA to be named Player of the Month and Rookie of the Month in the same month. She was the WNBA Rookie of the Month four times (May, July, August and September).

She also won the WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week three times, for weeks 9, 10, and 11.

She was the ninth rookie to be named a WNBA All-Star starter. She got this title by receiving 700,735 fan votes. This is the most votes ever.

After these incredible records and stats, she has been awarded the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year. She received 66 votes from a national panel of 67 sportswriters and broadcasters.

Caitlin Clark’s career has only just begun, and as years continue to go on, it will be exciting to see her continue to break more records and keep producing impressive stats.
