One of Joe Rogan’s most recent interviews was with former President Donald Trump, attracting millions of eyes.
Joe Rogan is a famous podcaster famously known for his podcast, “The Joe Rogan Experience,” which discusses various topics like comedy, philosophy, science, martial arts, hobbies, and politics.
In episode #2219, Joe had invited one of possibly the most important guests onto his podcast, former president and candidate for the presidency, Donald Trump, to talk about his campaign, his policies, and various other issues surrounding the country.
According to his own Media Bias/Fact Check, Joe Rogan is given a mixed factual status for factual reporting and is reported to be more right-leaning in his opinions.
With his right-leaning demeanor, it only makes sense that the most recent conservative president would come on to talk.
Whilst they talked, as previously mentioned, they touched on the policies that Trump will go into this election with in mind, his stances on many different topics, and ultimately giving the people a closer look at the former president’s plan.
Tariffs
One of the first major topics they covered while discussing was the topic of tariffs and how they would be utilized by replacing the federal income taxes with tariffs.
According to an article from MSN, Trump had this to say about Tariffs:
“We will not allow the enemy to come in and take our jobs and take our factories and take our workers and take our families unless they pay a big price, and the big price is tariffs.”
Robert F Kennedy Jr.
In the podcast, Joe mentioned that RFK Jr. has endorsed Trump’s campaign and asked if he plans to bring him into his administration. Trump replied, “Oh, I completely am,” as taken from an MSN article.
RFK Jr. has been known for his “baseless public-health conspiracy theories and anti-vaccine misinformation,” as mentioned by Yahoo.
After attempting to run himself as a third party, he dropped out of the race and began to endorse Trump, saying that he would “Make America Healthy Again,” according to The Boston Globe.
Previous Elections
Various remarks were made regarding previous elections and, of course, the most recent election in 2020, in which Joe Biden beat Donald Trump. A call back was even made from Trump regarding a previous election legitimacy in 2016 and how he was “down 17 points in Wisconsin,” although this was proved untrue by CNN Politics.
He claimed that the election in 2020 was “robbed” of him, as mentioned by Joe. Trump went on to talk about how his opponent used cheap strategies like hiding under the pretext of COVID-19 to cheat the election, again proven false by CNN Politics.
Foreign Policy
Trump went into detail about how he and the generals in charge of taking down ISIS did so in a matter of weeks when he, in fact, completed the mission about two years into his presidency.
He boasted about his relations with China and how he was one of the first to take money from China through Tariffs, saying: “Nobody took in 10 cents, not one other president.” However, it was through other presidents that the Tariffs were implemented, and since then, billions of dollars have been gained per year in revenue.
Other than these topics, plenty of other topics were discussed, topics that you most likely have already heard in the debates and their campaigns.
One interesting part of the interview involved Kamala Harris and how she was “supposed to do it, and then she might still do it,” according to Joe Rogan.
When talking about how she hasn’t come on yet, he followed up by saying that he “hope(s) she does” and says he will “…talk to her like a human being.”
“I think we’d have a fine conversation. I think I’d be able to talk to her. I wouldn’t try to interview her. I’d just try to have a conversation with her and hopefully get to know her as a human being. That was my goal… having her on,” said Rogan.
Whether or not she will or will not go onto the podcast, it was certainly an interesting episode as it allowed listeners and viewers alike to see another side of the former president. A more human side where the campaign isn’t the first thing on his mind, and he is seen talking about everyday things like UFC with Joe, who has an immense background in it.
Similarly to what Joe Rogan said, it would be an interesting experience to hear from the other side and to talk to the other presidential candidate as a human as well.
Whether or not this will affect the polls is another question, seeing as the election is on the 5th of November, and there is very little time to do any other campaigning.
