With the high-speed sport enjoying unprecedented growth in the country, Formula 1 is bringing simulator racing to the United States. F1 Arcade at Boston Seaport is opening its doors this spring.
Officially licensed under Formula 1, F1 Arcade is a bar and arcade. It will be a premium racing experience facility with a bar spread over 16,000 square feet and 69 racing simulators designed especially for the Boston venue. Each simulator is crafted with cutting-edge motion and audiovisual effects.
Adam Breeden created the F1 Arcade concept. The arcade opened its first location in London in 2022, followed by a second location in Birmingham in 2023.
After the success of the two locations in the United Kingdom, F1 announced last year that it would be opening a third location in Boston, Massachusetts. Avid motorsport fans now have a reason to cruise to Boston in April 2024.
Formula 1 continues to have one of the more rapidly growing markets for a sport, with one in two fans starting to follow the sport in the last four years. Fans are changing the sport’s profile, with most under 35.
In addition to the sport’s high-speed races, the Netflix documentary series Drive to Survive is dedicated to behind-the-scenes footage of the on-and-off-track action and has contributed to the country’s growing fanbase.
According to a BOStoday, the mega 16,000 square-feet facility located at 87 Pier 4 Blvd will have two floors. F1 circuits will inspire the ceiling chandeliers, and the neon lights lining the walls will replicate the F1 racing experience.
To enjoy, racers will have dishes like barbacoa tacos, wagyu beef burgers, and cocktails.
Guests will also be able to book a private party in the exclusive 2,400 square-foot space, which can accommodate a capacity of 200 guests.
Founder and Chief Executive Officer of F1 Arcade, Adam Breeden said,
“Opening our first U.S. location in Boston marks the beginning of our U.S. rollout. Formula 1’s success globally and particularly in the U.S. paves the way for F1 Arcade to continue to thrill fans and, importantly, also non-fans with our unique racing experience in a beautiful, high-energy environment with the very best hospitality and service.”
The simulator racing experience will last 30 to 45 minutes, and costs start at $20 and go up to $35. While this is the first location, F1 Arcade plans to open more locations in subsequent years in Washington, D.C., and other American cities.
