Apple’s new Vision Pro is something that we might never have thought could be a possibility. Upon first glance, it feels like something from the future, something that might’ve been imagined back in the 90’s.
For those who don’t know about the Vision Pro, it is Apple’s most recent technological breakthrough. Released on February 2nd, Apple’s new product hit the ground running.

Plenty of videos of people using their new product hit consumers’ screens, showing off the technological capabilities of the tech.
How did they reach such a large audience? They did what any large corporation would do nowadays and reached out to a large number of popular content creators.
People were quickly taken aback by the system’s sheer power and the features it packed. It was almost like being able to wear your phone on your face!
Throughout various reviews that have come out regarding the Vision Pro, they have all said roughly the same thing: that it’s not finished yet.
According to an article from MSN, “The Vision Pro is heavy. At just over 1.4 pounds, it weighs about the same as nine “C” alkaline batteries.”
For such a powerful computing system to run as well as it does, it must also have a power source attached to it. A large battery unit is connected to the Vision Pro via a 3-foot-long cable to solve this issue.
Most people have the battery in their pockets, but this can become an issue for many reasons.
According to the same article, some other notable flaws are a limited perspective, clarity drops in low light, and the system’s price.
Coming in at a whopping $3500, this new piece of tech is not really for the money savers out there. Buying this product is undoubtedly a costly endeavor.
The product also has questionable side effects on the human mind.
According to an article from Insider, the Vision Pro has possible side effects regarding how the brain perceives reality.
“Researchers have found that widespread, long-term immersion in VR headsets could literally change the way we perceive the world,” according to Insider.
It’s no secret that technology like this can definitely have some lasting effects on the human brain. Using anything that requires you to stare at a screen directly in front of your eyes is unsurprisingly not exactly great for your health.
Sarcasm aside, the article discussed how some testers had experienced what they call “simulator sickness” after attempting to wear the headset for long periods.
Simulator sickness seemed to cause nausea, headaches, dizziness, and object distortion. This meant they had to re-adapt to the real world and their surroundings.
So, why would anyone want to buy this piece of technology?

While there are many downsides to this early rendition of their product, the Apple Vision Pro is truly a technological wonder.
This is the first piece of technology that allows you to work in the real and the digital world simultaneously.
According to an article from Business Insider, the reviews for the Vision Pro talk very highly of its visual capabilities.
Nilay Patel, editor-in-chief of The Verge, reviewed the Vision Pro and said it’s “the best video passthrough that’s ever shipped in a consumer device by far.”
The product excels in many visual aspects, assuming you wear it for a reasonable amount of time.
Undoubtedly, the product has been one of the most fun new pieces of technology to come out in a long time.
Now for the real question: is this product worth buying?
In my opinion, no, at least not now, and not under the current circumstances.
There’s no telling what exactly Apple has in store for this product. There’s doubt that this product will manage to go very far.
However, the same thing was said about the first iPhone variant, and look where we are now.
We are getting closer and closer to the future we all imagined, and this is Apple’s first step toward it.
