Barbie fans worldwide will be able to channel their inner Barbie girl when the new Barbie flip phone is released this summer.

HMD (Human Mobile Devices) partnered with Mattel to create the new Barbie flip phone.

What Will This Phone Look Like?

The flip phone will be like a regular flip phone; it will have buttons instead of a touch screen and be hot pink.

The phone is designed to resemble Barbie’s iconic flip phone accessory that came with many of the dolls.

The idea of a hot pink Barbie phone brings a lot of excitement and anticipation to its release in July. HMD hasn’t released any prototypes or images of what this phone will look like, so the only information about what this phone will look like is the brief description that HMD described in their announcement.

Will the Phone Work?

Not only will this phone be hot pink and exciting, but it will also be able to make calls. Although this flip phone is designed to work like a regular flip phone, it won’t be connected to any internet.

Because it won’t be connected to the internet, it will be considered a “dead phone.” This idea is becoming increasingly popular among Gen Z, who are looking for a more peaceful life.

The phone will also be designed to last a long time. According to HMD, these phones will be “very difficult to kill.”

More About HMD

HMD is the company that took over and revamped the company known as Nokia. Although HMD is the new company, they will still make Nokia phones.

HMD shared that along with the Mattel partnership, they also have more partnerships lined up. For example, HMD’s Chief Marketing Officer Lars Silberbauer told CNBC, “There will be more collaborations. The next one is coming out in May.”

Their website released an article announcing the new things they have coming up in 2024, including the partnership with Mattel being #1 on the list.

HMD offers email updates to people who sign up to receive news updates about the brand.

HMD made a post on Instagram announcing their collaboration with Mattel, and the caption to this post was, “Say bye to endless screen time and hello to retro chic with this super stylish device for real-world adventures.”

Will People Purchase a Flip Phone?

It may seem surprising that people will want to buy a flip phone. But like said before, Gen Z is the target audience because of the growing desire to live a more peaceful life away from social media.

This new flip phone will give people looking for peace a chance to stay connected with others while allowing them to disconnect from social media.

HMD is using the insane excitement around the Barbie movement to attract people to purchase their new product. With the attention they hope to receive from the flip phone, they can hopefully continue to partner with different brands and bring in major profits for their company.

HMD is trying something new by bringing technology back in time. From the surface, this seems like a risky business, but in reality, HMD might be starting a new wave of technology and partnerships in the technology world.

This new phone will be every Barbie fan’s newest accessory, making them feel like they are just like Barbie in their own Barbie world.
