The 95th Academy Awards was held at the Dolby Theatre Ovation Hollywood on March 12th.

Jimmy Kimmel hosted the ceremony. This was his third time hosting the event, as he also hosted in 2017 and 2018.

“Jimmy is the perfect host to help us recognize the incredible artists and films of our 95th Oscars. His love of movies, live TV expertise, and ability to connect with our global audiences will create an unforgettable experience for our millions of viewers worldwide,” said Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences CEO Bill Kramer and Academy president Janet Yang in a joint statement

History was made at the Oscars this year.

Ke Huy Quan received his first Oscar. He won Best Actor in a Supporting Role for Everything Everywhere All At Once

Ke Huy Quan has been acting since the 80s, starting his career as a child actor. He took an almost twenty year acting hiatus to pursue stunt choreography and directing.

Everything Everywhere All At Once was Ke Huy Quan’s debut in his return to acting.

This award was long overdue.

Jaime Lee Curtis won her first Oscar for her role in Everything Everywhere All At Once. She won Best Actress in a Supporting Role.

Like Ke Huy Quan, she has also been acting since the 80s, and this was also a long overdue award.

Ruth Carter became the first black woman to win two Oscars.

She won for her costume design in the Marvel movie Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

In 2019, she won her first Oscar for costume design for Marvel’s Black Panther

She has previously been nominated for this award twice, once in 1993 for Malcolm X and once in 1997 for Amistad.

Michelle Yeoh became the first Asian woman to win Best Actress. This was for her role in Everything Everywhere All At Once, and it was her first Oscar nomination.

Brendan Fraser won his first Oscar for Best Actor in a Leading Role for The Whale
