Technology is incredible. Most people agree on that. However, microchips are a long-disputed issue whose effects have even been mentioned all the way back in the bible. Microchips are tiny wafers of semiconducting material which, in this case, are being discussed being implanted in humans.
Typically used in animals to identify them, microchips can do incredible things. They can get rid of the need for identification forms, they could have tickets stored on it to make life easier, they could store and record medical information to assist people, they could unlock your car, they can track people… Oh right, they can track people. That is the major problem with them.
massive company in the United Kingdom named BioTeq is experimenting with microchipping their employees.
In this specific case, the microchips are implanted in the flesh between the thumb and forefinger. So far, only 150 employees have been microchipped.
Another company actually microchipped their employees before BioTeq. A Swedish company named Biohax provides similar implants to their employees.
Biohax has currently installed over 4,000 people with microchips across 10 countries. The goal they say they have is to make life more convenient. For example, in Sweden there is a national railway currently using the Biohax install as a paper-ticket replacement to create efficient and sustainable travel experiences.
Biohax is in discussions with several companies about implanting the chips into their employees. Some have said no, but a few have contemplated the idea.
One specific company contemplating the idea has hundreds of thousands of employees working at it. It would not be mandatory because that is illegal, but employees would be forced into getting a microchip because the bosses could favor the employees that are implanted and ruin the career of the ones that are not.
Biohax probably did not choose the best name for their company. Some people are overly panicked about this situation and its unjust nature.
These overly panicked people think the name could show their intentions to hack humans and theoretically become gods, which I’m sure is not the goal of the company, since it is impossible to control somebody through a microchip in the hand. However, if they start implanting more things then we all have the right to freak out.
This situation does sound very interesting, stirring, and possibly be a start of a more technologically advanced future, but it also sounds very scary. This human implant trend is creating an Orwellian nightmare.
In George Orwell’s renowned novel, “1984,” there is a main threat throughout the whole book. That threat is “big brother.” Big brother would be watching over everybody at all times and basically creating a surveillance machine that can see everything.
Orwell’s nightmare is a situation, idea, or societal condition that Orwell identified as being destructive to the welfare of a free and open society. The microchips would be a major step towards a real “big brother,” and if that isn’t terrifying then I don’t know what is.
These companies do need to both stop buying from companies that sell microchips and stop creating microchips and causing them to become a widespread trend among companies. The idea of implanting chips into people, where you could find out their location whenever you wanted, is ethically wrong and Orwell pointed this out in his book as well as the bible points it out in Revelation 13:16-
This revelation states, “He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.” The bible literally calls a mark(microchip) in the hand that enables special privileges, “the mark of the beast.”
Luckily, many unions and organizations are publicly expressing their concerns about this and they seem to be the superior majority. I hope that humans forever continue to see this situation as they do in this day and age.
